Hiring: DIR, Development Company: University of Florida College of Medicine - Jacksonville Location: Metro Jacksonville Job Posted Time: 2026-09-16 20:23:30 Employment Type: Full-time Target Skills & Keywords : Credentialing, Microsoft Excel, Portfolio Management, Project Management, TDD About the job Required Skills: •Portfolio Management & Event Sponsorship •Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift prospects for the College of Medicine-Jacksonville and UF Health Jacksonville, including friends, faculty, staff, corporations, foundations and grateful patients with a focus on gifts of $100,000 and above. •Grow and refine an existing portfolio of prospects, donors and event sponsors, strategically advance relationships and bring gifts to closure through face-to-face visits, proposals and solicitations. •Develop and present concept papers and major gift proposals and acknowledge and recognize gifts in ways that are meaningful to donors and appropriate to the mission, vision and values of Advancement. •Develop support for UF Health Jacksonville and the College of Medicine-Jacksonville and our key priorities by effectively involving stakeholders, such as volunteers, physicians, faculty, and staff, in effort to support fundraising and engagement initiatives. •Increase knowledge of and grow support for UFHJ and COMJ campaign priorities, including capital for renovations and equipment, scholarships and faculty endowments, as well as department-specific priorities and initiatives. •In coordination with the events and stewardship coordinator, oversee event committee volunteers to engage and cultivate for support. •Support physicians, researchers, administrators and medical staff in identifying and referring grateful patient prospects, and in presenting needs and possibilities effectively. Qualifications: •Master's degree in appropriate area of specialization and three years of appropriate experience in Development or a related field; or a bachelor's degree in appropriate areas of specialization and five years of experience in Development or a related field. •A valid Florida driver license is required. •Three to five years of major gift fundraising experience with proven success soliciting gifts of $25,000 and above strongly preferred. •Prior experience in a college or university setting, enthusiasm for fundraising in a comprehensive research university, and the desire to work collegially within a goal-oriented fundraising organization. •Knowledge of fundraising principles, methods, and standards. •Expertise in developing solicitation strategies. •The ability to work strategically, develop and implement constituency programs and activities, along with a talent for motivating volunteers. •Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively and is a team player. •The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with broad constituencies, meet deadlines, be self-motivated, and work independently. •Accuracy, attention to detail and a customer service-oriented attitude Interested candidates, please apply directly through the job posting on company's career page or try via AI auto apply on this platform.
