Required Skills: •Serves as video retrieval specialist for the CTA. •O Retrieves, compiles, edits, and preserves video evidence from CTA’s camera system which includes work locations, rail platforms, and vehicles in response to investigations and/or requests from other CTA departments or outside agencies. •O Coordinates with CTA departments (Rail & Bus Operations) as well as maintenance personnel to ensure videos are obtained in a timely manner. •O Documents and records all requests in order to maintain proper chain of custody. •O Assigns an inventory control number to each video record retrieved. •O Collaborates with various departments to identify, troubleshoot, and report defective equipment for corrective action. •O Stays up to date with the latest video surveillance technology. •Provide technical support as needed to CTA staff and law enforcement, CPD, OEMC, federal agencies, the CTA Law Department and CTA Safety & Security Department. Qualifications: •An Associate's degree in Technology, Video Communications or 3 years of experience in a technical, video field or an equivalent combination of education and experience relating to this position. •Valid Illinois driver's license required for day and nighttime driving. •Previous experience with video editing and using video software (such as Cyberlink Power Director, Snagit or equivalent) is preferred. •Must be proficient with video retrieval and editing technology. •Requires sitting for extended periods of time, walking up and down stairs / onto buses or trains and/or rails. •Visual acumen, manual dexterity and fingering while working with computers/overhead compartments and tight spaces. •Auditory acuity to listen for CTA vehicles while working in bay and terminal areas. •Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. •Be able to pass a third rail training course. •Service Area Requirement: Exempt (Non-Union) employees must live within the boundaries of the CTA Statutory Service Area either at the time of employment or within 6 months of beginning employment at CTA.
