Hiring: Database Specialist (Open Rank Senior – Principal Professional) Company: University of Colorado Location: Aurora, CO Job Posted Time: 2026-09-10 11:45:46 Employment Type: Full-time / On-site Target Skills & Keywords : Aurora, Data Warehouse, Epic Systems, HIPAA, Node.js, Quality Assurance, R, SQL Server About the job Experience: •3-5 years of experience in REDCap database design and architecture construction of complete standalone databases •3-5 years of experience working in a research setting involving human subjects and adherence to research or clinical protocols •2 years of experience in REDCap database design and architecture construction of complete standalone databases •2 years of experience working in a research setting involving human subjects and adherence to research or clinical protocols •5 years of experience in REDCap database design and architecture construction of complete standalone databases Required Skills: •Design and program RedCap database architecture. •Monitor daily database activities and implement enhancements as necessary. •Assist with staff support and training in database features and development, including troubleshooting database and workflow issues that arise during field data collection and ongoing study operations. •Produce data checks and reports to ensure data accuracy and completeness. •Curate datasets for study personnel and investigators. •Develop clear and thorough documentation for work produced and study processes for transparency and replicability. •This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) position that reports to the Senior Research Scientist. Qualifications: •A bachelor’s degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, public health, data science or a directly related field from an accredited institution •Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis. •Database management expertise with creating and maintaining SQL Server and/or MS Access, coding in SAS and/or R, and producing data documentation for these products and processes. •Bilingual English and Spanish speaking •Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.
