Hiring: Critical Facility Engineer Company: Meta Location: Montgomery, AL Job Posted Time: 2026-09-02 17:58:21 Employment Type: Full-time Target Skills & Keywords: Data Center Operations, Critical Facilities, Electrical, HVAC, Mechanical, Controls, EAM/CMMS, Hexagon, Preventive Maintenance, Emergency Response, Vendor Management, AI Tools, Prompt Engineering, Agent Orchestration, 7x24 Operations Experience: - 6+ years of experience in electrical, HVAC, mechanical, controls, or other technical maintenance field - Associate's degree in engineering plus 4+ years experience OR Bachelor's degree in a related field plus 2+ years experience in electrical, HVAC, mechanical, or controls will be considered in lieu of 6+ years experience - Preferred: 8+ years experience in a data center or other Critical Environment (pharma, clean room, medical, power production, etc.) Required Skills: - Hands-on operations and maintenance of critical systems to ensure high uptime, efficiency, and safety - Complete work order requests accurately and on time in an enterprise asset management (EAM) system (Hexagon) - Achieve and maintain high-level technical knowledge of data center infrastructure and operations; complete Personnel Qualification Standards (PQS) training - Provide technical expertise and assistance as required - Respond quickly to data center facility emergencies using Meta procedures or emergency operating procedures - Regularly inspect equipment, buildings, safety routes, and grounds to identify abnormal or unsafe conditions or faults - Troubleshoot, evaluate, and recommend system upgrades - Order parts and supplies for maintenance and repairs - Work with vendors and contractors to ensure compliance with agreed processes, procedures, and standards - Escalate issues to facility management appropriately and timely - Assist in scheduling and supervising vendors/subcontractors during equipment/systems maintenance and service - Provide ongoing recommendations for improvements to the operations and maintenance program - Utilize computerized tooling in a control room environment to operate remote equipment, monitor system alerts, centralize communications, diagnose faults, and prioritize dispatching of resources - Physical requirements: use hands and fingers; reach/push/pull with arms/hands/shoulders; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl; lift and/or move 45 pounds or more; ability to work at a workstation for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation Qualifications: - 6+ years of experience in electrical, HVAC, mechanical, controls, or other technical maintenance field - Associate's degree in engineering plus 4+ years experience OR Bachelor's degree in related field plus 2+ years experience in electrical, HVAC, mechanical, or controls (in lieu of 6+ years experience) - Must be willing to work on a shift schedule, which may include nights and holidays - Preferred: 8+ years experience in a data center or other Critical Environment - Preferred: Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies - Preferred: Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements) - Preferred: Knowledge of EAM/CMMS systems - Preferred: Professional affiliations (7x24 Exchange, IFMA, Data Center Pulse, etc.) - Preferred: Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and life safety monitoring and control systems typically used in critical environments Compensation: - Base pay range: $88,005.00/yr - $124,010.00/yr - Actual pay will be based on skills and experience Interested candidates, please apply directly through the job posting on company's career page or try via AI auto apply on this platform.
