Hiring: Critical Facility Engineer Company: Meta Location: Huntsville, AL Job Posted Time: 2026-09-13 17:58:21 Employment Type: Full-time Target Skills & Keywords: Data Center Operations, Critical Facilities, Electrical, HVAC, Mechanical, Controls, EAM/CMMS, Hexagon, Preventive Maintenance, Troubleshooting, Blueprint Interpretation, CAD Drawings, Vendor Management, Emergency Response, Shift Work Experience: - 6+ years of experience in electrical, HVAC, mechanical, controls, or other technical maintenance field - Associate's degree in engineering plus 4+ years experience OR Bachelor's degree in a related field plus 2+ years experience in electrical, HVAC, mechanical, or controls will be considered in lieu of 6+ years experience - 8+ years experience in a data center or other Critical Environment (pharma, clean room, medical, power production, etc.) preferred Required Skills: - Hands-on operations and maintenance of critical systems in data centers - Completing work order requests accurately and on time in an enterprise asset management (EAM) system (Hexagon) - Achieving and maintaining a high level of technical knowledge regarding data center infrastructure and operations; completing Personnel Qualification Standards (PQS) training - Providing technical expertise and assistance as required - Responding quickly to data center facility emergencies using standard or emergency operating procedures - Inspecting equipment, buildings, safety routes, and grounds to identify abnormal or unsafe conditions or faults - Troubleshooting, evaluating, and recommending system upgrades - Ordering parts and supplies for maintenance and repairs - Working with vendors and contractors to ensure compliance with processes, procedures, and standards - Escalating issues to facility management appropriately and timely - Assisting in scheduling and supervising vendors/subcontractors during equipment/systems maintenance and service - Providing recommendations for improvements to the operations and maintenance program - Working on a shift schedule, which may include nights and holidays - Utilizing computerized tooling in a control room environment to operate remote equipment, monitor system alerts, centralize communications, diagnose faults, and prioritize dispatching of resources Qualifications: - Ability to use hands and fingers - Ability to reach/push/pull with arms/hands/shoulders - Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl - Ability to lift and/or otherwise move 45 pounds or more - Able to sit or stand at a workstation for extended periods of time - Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and life safety monitoring and control systems typically used in critical environments (preferred) - Knowledge of EAM/CMMS systems (preferred) - Experience interpreting blueprints/CAD drawings (preferred) - Trade Certification or state licensure in Electrical or Mechanical (HVAC) (preferred) - Professional affiliations (7x24 Exchange, IFMA, Data Center Pulse, etc.) (preferred) - Knowledge of critical facilities operations (preferred) - Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (preferred) Compensation: Base pay range: $88,005.00/yr - $124,010.00/yr Interested candidates, please apply directly through the job posting on company's career page or try via AI auto apply on this platform.
