Hiring: Critical Facility Engineer Company: Meta Location: Henrico, VA Job Posted Time: 2026-09-09 17:58:20 Employment Type: Full-time (Shift schedule, may include nights and holidays) Target Skills & Keywords: Data Center Operations, Critical Facilities, Electrical, HVAC, Mechanical, Controls, Preventive Maintenance, Troubleshooting, EAM (Hexagon), Blueprints/CAD, Vendor Management, Emergency Response, AI Tools Integration Experience: - 5+ years experience in electrical, HVAC, mechanical, controls, or other technical maintenance field - OR Associate's degree in engineering plus 3+ years experience - OR Bachelor's degree in related field plus 1+ years experience in electrical, HVAC, mechanical, or controls (in lieu of 5+ years experience) Required Skills: - Hands-on operations and maintenance of critical mechanical, electrical, and controls systems - Complete work orders accurately and on time in an enterprise asset management (EAM) system (Hexagon) - Achieve and maintain high-level technical knowledge of data center infrastructure; complete PQS training - Respond quickly to facility emergencies using standard or emergency operating procedures - Inspect equipment, buildings, safety routes, and grounds for abnormal or unsafe conditions - Troubleshoot, evaluate, and recommend system upgrades - Order parts and supplies for maintenance and repairs - Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure compliance with processes, procedures, and standards - Escalate issues to facility management appropriately and timely - Assist in scheduling and supervising vendors/subcontractors during maintenance and service - Recommend ongoing improvements to operations and maintenance programs - Utilize computerized tooling in a control room environment to operate remote equipment, monitor alerts, diagnose faults, and prioritize resource dispatching - Physical requirements: use hands and fingers; reach/push/pull with hands/arms/shoulders; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl; lift/move 45 pounds or more; work at a workstation for extended periods Qualifications: - Minimum qualifications as listed above - Preferred: Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies - Preferred: Ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact - Preferred: Knowledge of critical facilities operations - Preferred: Experience interpreting blueprints/CAD drawings - Preferred: Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews) - Preferred: Knowledge of mechanics Compensation: Base pay range: $67,995.00/yr - $103,002.00/yr (actual pay based on skills and experience) Interested candidates, please apply directly through the job posting on company's career page or try via AI auto apply on this platform.
