Hiring: Critical Facility Engineer Company: Meta Location: Ashburn, VA Job Posted Time: 2026-09-09 17:58:21 Employment Type: Full-time Target Skills & Keywords: Data Center Operations, Critical Facilities, Electrical Systems, HVAC, Mechanical Maintenance, Controls, Building Management Systems, Fire Protection, Cooling Technologies, Electrical Distribution, Emergency Response, Vendor Management, EAM (Hexagon), Preventive Maintenance, Troubleshooting, Shift Operations Experience: - 6+ years of experience in electrical, HVAC, mechanical, controls, or other technical maintenance field - Associate's degree in engineering plus 4+ years experience OR Bachelor's degree in related field plus 2+ years experience in electrical, HVAC, mechanical, or controls will be considered in lieu of 6+ years experience - Experience in a broad range of industries such as electrical generation, electrical distribution, cooling technologies, building control and fire protection systems Required Skills: - Hands-on operations and maintenance of critical data center systems - Work order management in enterprise asset management (EAM) systems (Hexagon) - Technical knowledge of data center infrastructure and operations - Troubleshooting, evaluating, and recommending system upgrades - Ordering parts and supplies for maintenance and repairs - Vendor and contractor coordination and supervision - Emergency response using standard and emergency operating procedures - Equipment, building, safety route, and grounds inspections - Computerized tooling and control room operations for remote equipment monitoring and fault diagnosis - Physical requirements: use hands and fingers; reach/push/pull with arms/hands/shoulders; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl; lift and/or move 45 pounds or more; sit or stand at a workstation for extended periods Qualifications: - Ability to complete personnel qualification standards (PQS) training - Ability to work on a shift schedule, which may include nights and holidays - Strong escalation and communication skills with facility management - Ability to provide technical expertise and assistance as required - Commitment to continuous improvement of operations and maintenance programs - Preferred: Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews) - Preferred: Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact - Preferred: Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies Compensation: - Base pay range: $88,005.00/yr - $124,010.00/yr - Actual pay will be based on skills and experience Interested candidates, please apply directly through the job posting on company's career page or try via AI auto apply on this platform.
