Hiring: Cribl Engineer Company: Booz Allen Hamilton Location: Washington, DC Job Posted Time: 2026-09-10 14:44:53 Employment Type: Full-time / Remote Target Skills & Keywords : AI, Ansible, Bash, Configuration Management, Data Pipeline, ECS, Encryption, JavaScript, Linux, Python, RBAC, SIEM, TLS, Terraform About the job Experience: •3+ years of experience in information technology, focusing on logging, observability, or SIEM engineering Required Skills: •Build, maintain, and optimize high-throughput data pipelines using Cribl Stream and Cribl Edge to ensure efficient data routing, masking, and transformation. •Normalize incoming log sources to standardized schemas such as CIM and ECS before routing to downstream SIEM platforms, analytics tools, and storage. •Implement complex routing logic, data masking, enrichment, and replay workflows, utilizing custom JavaScript functions and Regular Expressions (Regex) patterns directly within Cribl pipelines. •Monitor system health, assist in managing worker topology, and troubleshoot bottlenecks or failures in the data flow. •Utilize scripting, including Python or Bash, and Infrastructure-as-Code tools, including Ansible or Terraform, to automate deployment and configuration management. •Maintain clear and accurate technical documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures for the observability infrastructure. •Join us. Qualifications: •Knowledge of log forwarding, indexing, data collection, search architecture, source types, and ingestion-time parsing •Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam •HS diploma or GED and 7+ years of experience supporting IT projects and activities, Associate’s degree and 5+ years of experience supporting IT projects and activities, Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience supporting IT projects and activities, or Master’s degree and 1+ years of experience supporting IT projects and activities •Demonstrated capacity to obtain a DoD 8570 IAT Level III Certification such as SecurityX, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH, or CCSP Certification, within 60 days of start date •Demonstrated capacity to obtain a DoD 8570 Cybersecurity Service Provider - Infrastructure Support (CSSP-IS) Certification such as CEH, CySA+, GICSP, SSCP, CHFI, CFR, Cloud+, or CND Certification, within 30 days of start date •Demonstrated capacity to obtain a Cribl Certification such as Cribl Certified Observability Engineer - CCOE Certification, within 30 days of start date •Knowledge of transport protocols, including HTTP, TCP, and TLS, and data formats, including JSON and Syslog •Knowledge of data security fundamentals, including encryption, RBAC, and data masking strategies •Knowledge of log normalization concepts and schema alignment, including Common Information Model (CIM) or frameworks such as ECS or OCSF •7+ years of experience supporting IT projects and activities, Associate’s degree and 5+ years of experience supporting IT projects and activities, Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience supporting IT projects and activities, or Master’s degree and 1+ years of experience supporting IT projects and activities Compensation: •$86,800 - $198,000 / year •Flexible work environment (work from home / hybrid options) Interested candidates, please apply directly through the job posting on company's career page or try via AI auto apply on this platform.
