Hiring: Community Participation Supports Supervisor (IDD/Autism Service) Company: Access Services Location: Lehighton, PA Job Posted Time: 2026-09-16 21:20:27 About the job Experience: •Two years of supervisory experience in social services highly preferred. Required Skills: •Provide regular supervision to multiple DSPs in a variety of settings. Develop and support DSPs to further implement positive individual outcomes. •Engage DSPs in coaching conversations pertaining to career development and employee engagement. •Provide direct care and direct support hours to meet program and individuals' needs, including but not limited to transferring, rotating, and changing individuals. •Participate in the on-call rotation as assigned. •Effectively assist resolution of crisis and conflict situations, if needed. •Guide and discuss with staff members various methods of interventions and program planning for the individuals we serve and their families. •Assist in hiring and orienting new DSPs. •Conduct and/or attend case reviews and assessments on a regular basis. Qualifications: •The selected candidate must meet all qualifying and ongoing job criteria including background checks, physical examination, and a driving history record. •A valid US driver's license for at least two years, not including time with permit. •No serious traffic convictions within the past three years. (Serious convictions include, but are not limited to, DUI, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, or three or more traffic violations and/or at-fault accidents within that period). •Access to a reliable vehicle during work hours. Vehicle must have valid registration and inspection stickers. •Valid auto insurance. You will be asked to provide proof that you are a covered driver on the policy. •High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree in the following preferred field is highly desirable: education, special education, psychology, counseling, gerontology, social work, or therapeutic recreation. •A NADD, RBT, CNA, or BCBA certification is preferred if bachelor's degree preference is not met. •Caring and cooperative attitude toward others with a view of seeing the need of others as more important than his/her own. •Demonstrated capacity to plan, organize and supervise the work of others. •Demonstrated capacity to exercise judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting laws, rules and policies governing agency services. Sound oral and written communication skills.
