Hiring: Commodity Manager, Service Company: Harbinger Location: Garden Grove, CA Job Posted Time: 2026-09-03 10:36:17 About the job Experience: •Purchasing & Supplier Management: Proven ability to manage day-to-day supplier performance, purchase orders, delivery schedules, shortages, expedites, and inventory planning. •Commercial & Analytical Acumen: Strong negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable pricing, lead times, and commercial terms while balancing customer service against inventory investment and total cost. •Systems Proficiency: Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP platforms (e.g., Oracle, SAP) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for evaluating demand, identifying trends, and analyzing large datasets. •Execution & Working Style: Highly independent problem-solver with excellent cross-functional communication skills, capable of managing competing, time-sensitive priorities in a fast-paced environment. (Willingness to travel periodically as required). Required Skills: •Strategic Sourcing & Negotiation: Develop comprehensive sourcing strategies and negotiate commercial terms (pricing, lead times, MOQs) to optimize cost and availability while driving continuous cost-reduction initiatives. •Tactical Execution & Risk Mitigation: Manage daily purchasing activities (POs, delivery schedules, expedites), lead shortage recovery, and monitor supplier KPIs (on-time delivery, fill rate) to protect field service operations. •Inventory & Demand Planning: Translate demand forecasts, warranty data, and vehicle population into actionable replenishment plans, balancing required service levels with optimized inventory (safety stock, MOQs, E&O). •Lifecycle & Change Management: Manage the purchasing impact of engineering changes (ECOs/PCOs), part supersessions, substitutions, and end-of-life requirements. •NPI & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ensure aftermarket readiness for new vehicle launches (SOP) and partner with Quality, Engineering, and Operations to resolve supplier issues and support field service/warranty campaigns. Qualifications: •Aftermarket & Parts Expertise: Familiarity with automotive BOMs, parts catalogs, ECOs, and managing low-volume, obsolete, or warranty-driven parts. •Quality & Supplier Development: Knowledge of automotive quality systems, corrective actions, and standard processes (APQP, PPAP, FMEA). •Advanced Sourcing: Experience managing multi-tier global suppliers, executing should-cost analysis, and driving competitive benchmarking. •Systems & Launch Readiness: Experience with aftermarket inventory/demand-planning systems and establishing parts readiness prior to new vehicle SOP. •Logistics: Knowledge of automotive warehousing, distribution, freight, and aftermarket fulfillment processes.
