Hiring: Clinician Scientist Company: Abridge Location: San Francisco, CA Job Posted Time: 2026-09-15 17:58:44 Employment Type: Full-time (Hybrid – minimum 3 days per week in SF office) Target Skills & Keywords: Clinical Documentation, AI/ML in Healthcare, Prompt Engineering, EMR Integration, Risk Adjustment (HCC Capture), Clinical Decision Support, Prior Authorization, Hallucination Detection, Omission Detection, Medication Safety Checks, Clinical Guardrail Metrics, Revenue Cycle Management, Cross-functional Collaboration, Data Models, Clinical Workflows, Generative AI Experience: - MD, PA, DO (or equivalent clinical degree) with direct experience working in clinical practice - Deep understanding of medical documentation, clinical workflows, and medical terminology - Background combining deep clinical expertise with AI experience - Experience collaborating with engineers, data scientists, and product teams to integrate medical insights into AI models - Familiarity with clinical guideline update cycles and payer policies Required Skills: - Develop and refine AI-driven clinical tools across notes, risk adjustment (HCC capture), clinical decision support, and prior authorization using clinical expertise and prompt engineering - Define "clinically meaningful" output for each product area, including acceptable error rates, failure modes, and quality thresholds - Write, review, and optimize prompts to improve AI model performance in clinical contexts - Build and refine evaluation tools for medical documentation quality assessment, including hallucination detection, omission detection, and medication safety checks - Translate clinical needs into technical specifications and data models - Define clinical guardrail metrics and baselines; own pre/post evaluation requirements for model updates affecting clinical output - Monitor clinical guideline update cycles and flag when product behavior needs to evolve based on new standards or payer policies Qualifications: - MD, PA, DO (or equivalent clinical degree) with direct clinical practice experience - Deep understanding of medical documentation, clinical workflows, and medical terminology - Proven ability to combine clinical expertise with AI/technology - Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with engineers, data scientists, clinicians, and product managers - Willingness to work from the SF office at least 3x per week (hybrid model) - Relocation assistance available for candidates willing to move to San Francisco Compensation: - Base pay range: $240,000.00/yr - $280,000.00/yr - Actual pay based on skills and experience Interested candidates, please apply directly through the job posting on company's career page or try via AI auto apply on this platform.
