Hiring: Chief of Campus Security Company: Baton Rouge Community College Location: Baton Rouge, LA Job Posted Time: 2026-09-12 12:50:11 Target Skills & Keywords : Regulatory Compliance, Risk Management About the job Experience: •10 years of progressive policing experience, including 5 years in a command-level position (e.g., Lieutenant, Captain, Commander, Division Chief). •Knowledge of modern policing practices, emergency response, and regulatory compliance •Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational effectiveness Required Skills: •25% – Strategic Leadership & Department Oversight Provides executive leadership for all public safety operations, including patrol, investigations, and emergency response; establishes departmental vision, priorities, and performance of standards aligned with institutional strategy. •20% – Compliance, Policy, and Risk Management Develops, implements, and maintains policies and procedures in compliance with federal and state laws (including Clery Act), LCTCS requirements, and law enforcement best practices; ensures audit readiness and risk mitigation. •15% – Emergency Preparedness & Crisis Management Leads campus emergency preparedness planning and response; serves as a key member of the College’s Crisis Management Team; coordinates response protocols and continuity strategies. •10% – Community Engagement & Campus Partnerships Builds and sustains relationships with students, faculty, staff, and external partners; promotes trust through visibility, transparency, and safety education initiatives. •10% – Organizational Development & Training Establishes and promotes a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement; oversees training, certification, and leadership development of public safety personnel. •10% – Operations & Technology Management Oversees security technologies, parking operations, and identification systems to support a modern, efficient, and secure campus environment. •5% – Budget & Resource Management Develops and manages departmental budget; ensures effective allocation of personnel, equipment, and financial resources. Qualifications: •Bachelor's degree in any field of study •Demonstrated law enforcement leadership experience with progressively responsible supervisory or management roles. •Knowledge of modern law enforcement practices, including criminal and administrative investigations, community engagement, emergency response coordination, and professional accountability standards. •Strong leadership, communication, and organizational management skills. •Knowledge of Clery Act compliance and campus safety regulations •Commissioned and completed POST-certified firearms training. •Master's degree in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, or related field •Completion of advanced police leadership or management training, such as the FBI National Academy or Northwestern University Center for Public Safety, or possession of related training obtained at a state level. •Knowledge of Title IX compliance and campus safety regulations •Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or other related field from an accredited college or university Interested candidates, please apply directly through the job posting on company's career page or try via AI auto apply on this platform.
