Hiring: Changeover Technician: Injection Molding Company: the LEGO Group Location: Richmond, VA Job Posted Time: 2026-09-10 13:08:34 Employment Type: Hybrid Target Skills & Keywords : Accessibility, Lean Manufacturing, Manufacturing Execution Systems About the job Required Skills: •Perform mold changeovers on injection molding machines in accordance with standardized work instructions, safety procedures, and production schedules. •Safely remove, transport, install, align, and secure injection molds using approved lifting devices, overhead cranes, and material handling equipment. •Prepare molds and associated tooling for installation by verifying cleanliness, condition, and readiness for production. •Connect and verify all mold utilities, including water, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and temperature control systems, ensuring proper operation prior to startup. •Perform pre-startup inspections and verify machine and mold setup against established standards and setup documentation. •Support first-shot validation and production startup in partnership with Process Technicians, Production, and Quality teams. •Identify and communicate tooling, equipment, or setup issues that could impact safety, quality, or production performance, escalating concerns as appropriate. •Complete all required documentation related to mold changes, equipment status, setup verification, and production records accurately and on time. Qualifications: •High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational education preferred. •Two or more years of experience performing mold changeovers, mold setup, machine setup, or related technical work within an injection molding manufacturing environment preferred. •Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with the ability to safely install, align, connect, and prepare injection molds for production. •Solid functional working knowledge of injection molding machines, molds, auxiliary equipment, and utility connections. •Demonstrated capacity to read and follow setup sheets, work instructions, technical documentation, and safety procedures. •Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence. •Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality teams. •Basic computer proficiency and experience using manufacturing execution systems (MES), digital work instructions, or electronic work order systems preferred. •Technical certification or formal training in injection molding, industrial maintenance, tooling, manufacturing technology, or a related field. •Operational familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, SMED, and continuous improvement methodologies.
