Required Skills: •Coaches’ students in regards to looking for a job or applying for college or military; assists students with job search, resume writing, and interviewing skills. •Contacts students prior to separation, immediately following separation, and at least every thirty (30) days post separation to provide placement and transition assistance. •Verifies employment, job upgrades, and school and/or military placement in compliance with government regulations. •Develops and maintains partnerships with employers to place Job Corps graduates in jobs with career potential and former enrollees in entry level jobs. •Submits a monthly report to management detailing the placement activities performed and the contacts made to include placed, not placed, and cannot locate. •Participates in outreach trips to network with potential employers and school officials. Conducts presentations to individuals, youth groups, communities, agencies, schools, and potential employers to foster interest in Job Corps. Attends career and college fairs. •Maintains confidentiality of student records. •Assists Outreach/Admissions staff in communicating basic requirements of Job Corps eligibility to urban and rural youth, youth influencers, and potential future employers. Qualifications: •Bachelor’s degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field; or Associate’s degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field, and 2 years’ related experience. •Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook at an intermediate level. •Successfully pass background check and drug test required on the contract. •Current, valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
