Required Skills: •This position is for an engineer with strong AutoCAD skills and a detail-oriented approach to engineering documentation. You will serve as the Technical Data Package (TDP) lead for Machinery Control Systems (MCS), Repair Station Consoles (RSC), and Engine Controllers (EC) on the DDG-51 Modernization (MOD) and related Tech Refresh (TR) programs. •Technical Data Package Development and Ownership •Create electrical block installation drawings in AutoCAD as part of TDPs across multiple ship alterations, serving as MCS's design input to shipbuilder BIW for generation of Ship Installation Drawings (SIDs). •Produce and maintain TDPs spanning multiple DDG hulls across Flight I, Flight II, and Flight IIA configurations. •Review ship check data and document legacy baseline hardware and signal cable configurations; verify legacy baselines are correctly captured in NSWC TDPs. •Update TDP drawings based on ISEA review comments and ship check findings. •Support ownership and execution of the shipboard legacy configuration verification test procedure during TDY ship check trips. •Conduct on-site verification of legacy MCS configuration prior to modernization. Qualifications: •Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is required; no equivalencies or experience substitutions will be considered. •Proficiency in AutoCAD with the ability to create and modify electrical block installation drawings. •Strong attention to detail for reviewing and verifying complex engineering configurations across multiple ship variants. •Demonstrated capacity to manage and track large volumes of technical documentation (thousands of LARs, multiple TDPs, wire lists). •Strong organizational and coordination skills — you will manage deliverables across multiple ISEAs, program offices, and shipbuilders simultaneously. •Effective written and verbal communication skills; comfortable hosting meetings and driving action item closure. •Self-motivated with the ability to take ownership of deliverables and work independently. •Basic technical writing ability for reports, wire discrepancy lists, and test procedures. •Successful applicants must either have active government security clearance or the ability to receive approval upon position acceptance. •Must be a US Citizen.
