Hiring: Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) Company: HeartleafABA Location: Bangor, ME Job Posted Time: 2026-09-17 02:37:23 About the job Required Skills: •Our young clients, ages 2-5 want to hang out with you! •Is a center-based program that works with young kids with autism, and we are hiring people that enjoy children of this age and are comfortable/have experience of being around people with autism. •We use a technique called ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) to help them build skills for life- and we will teach it to you. •Using ABA, our kids make amazing progress- going from non-verbal to talking and laughing, from pull ups to using the toilet, from isolation to group activities. It is so satisfying (and emotional) to see the progress they make. Their work with you is the reason this happens! •We teach parents how to use these same tools so progress can continue at home. •This role is part nursery schoolteacher, part analyst, part big brother/sister mentor. •We also want our BHPs to get additional training to become an RBT (registered behavior technician) to gain more skills specific to using ABA. Although RBTs aren’t well known in Maine, the designation is very common in other states across the country and widely recognized.
