Hiring: AVP & Actuary – Enterprise Asset Liability Management Strategy Company: National Life Group Location: Addison, TX Job Posted Time: 2026-09-16 11:51:30 Employment Type: On-site Target Skills & Keywords : Financial Planning, Risk Management About the job Required Skills: •Develop enterprise ALM analyses and perspectives that enhance balance sheet management, profitability, and long-term business performance. •Provide actuarial insight into enterprise profitability drivers by integrating perspectives across liabilities, assets, product design, and investment performance. •Partner with Investments to evaluate asset-liability interactions and provide actuarial analyses supporting investment decision-making. •Partner with Product Development to assess the ALM implications of new products, pricing strategies, and other business initiatives. •Define strategic ALM analytical needs and partner with actuarial modeling teams to develop the modeling capabilities, scenario analyses, and frameworks required to evaluate enterprise decisions. •Monitor emerging economic, regulatory, accounting, and industry developments and assess their implications for the Company’s financial strategy. •Present strategic analyses and actionable insights to executive leadership that inform enterprise strategy and business decisions. •Represent the actuarial organization on cross-functional strategic initiatives while building strong partnerships across Investments, Product Development, Finance, Capital Management, Risk Management, and executive leadership. Qualifications: •Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, finance, economics, statistics, or a related quantitative discipline and 19 or more years of related work experience, OR an advanced degree and 16 or more years of related experience, OR 23 or more years of total equivalent work experience •Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) •Progressively responsible actuarial experience within the life insurance industry •Deep expertise in life and annuity products, asset-liability management, actuarial modeling, and enterprise financial dynamics, with a strong understanding of product design, investment portfolios, and asset-intensive business •Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate technical analyses into actionable business insights •Demonstrated ability to build strong cross-functional relationships across actuarial, investments, finance, and other business partners •Demonstrated capacity to pass a full background investigation •Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, Statutory, and Economic financial reporting and their implications for asset liability management •Expertise with actuarial modeling platforms including MG-ALFA or comparable modeling systems •All Applicants Are Expected To Leverage approved AI tools, where appropriate, to improve the efficiency, quality, and impact of their work.
