Stat. 112.219(6). Required Skills: •Lead and manage the university’s fleet program, including vehicle acquisition, utilization, life-cycle planning, and motor pool operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective service delivery. •Develop and oversee operating and capital budgets, including maintenance, fuel programs, rentals, and replacement reserves, while implementing long-term strategies aligned with university needs. •Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and university policies; serve as the primary liaison with departments, vendors, and external agencies (e.g., FDOT). •Oversee fleet asset management within IWMS (AiM), including life-cycle tracking, data accuracy, preventive maintenance programs, and performance monitoring to maximize reliability and minimize downtime. •Conduct audits, inspections, and vendor evaluations to ensure quality, compliance, and continuous improvement in fleet operations. •Coordinate generator and emergency power support operations, ensuring readiness and continuity of critical services during outages and emergency events. •Leverage data and reporting tools to analyze fleet utilization, support right-sizing and replacement planning, and inform strategic decision-making. •Support capital planning initiatives, including fleet replacement and infrastructure improvements (e.g., fuel systems, EV transition), while identifying cost-saving opportunities. Qualifications: •Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience or combination of relevant comparable education and supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6). •Extensive experience managing a large, complex fleet program, preferably in higher education, government, or a similarly regulated environment. •Strong knowledge of fleet lifecycle management, preventive maintenance programs, and asset management systems (e.g., IWMS/AiM or similar platforms). •Professional certifications such as Certified Automotive Fleet Manager (CAFM), Certified Public Fleet Professional (CPFP), or equivalent. •Demonstrated experience with regulatory compliance, including state reporting requirements and coordination with agencies such as FDOT. •Proven ability to develop and manage operating and capital budgets, including cost analysis, forecasting, and long-term capital planning. •Bachelor’s degree in Fleet Management, Automotive Technology, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. •Special Instructions To The Applicants •The full salary range for this position is $64,518 - $96,778. The final rate will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations. •Position requires a valid Class E driver’s license. The position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.
