Hiring: Audit Director for Treasury and Capital Markets Company: Fannie Mae Location: Washington, DC Job Posted Time: 2026-09-17 09:52:28 Employment Type: Remote Target Skills & Keywords : AI, Capital Markets, Risk Management, Stakeholder Management About the job Experience: •Knowledge and exposure to MBS, CMBS, and Whole Loan Mortgage transactions. •Understanding of typical interest rate risk hedging strategies and related risk implications and measures. •Operational familiarity with global regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements. •Strategic mindset with ability to balance detail orientation and big-picture thinking. •Capital Markets - Internal Audit – Director Required Skills: •THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE •Audit Leadership •Develop and execute a risk-based audit plan for treasury and capital markets activities, including pricing, hedging, structured transactions, credit risk transfers, interest rate risk management, liquidity risk management, and related activities. •Oversee planning, fieldwork, and reporting for audits, ensuring adherence to professional standards and internal policies. •Conduct continuous risk monitoring and maintain an up-to-date risk profile for the Treasury and Capital Markets division. •Identify emerging risks and recommend proactive control enhancements. •Ensure a solid understanding of the key controls in place to prevent or detect unauthorized trading. •Develop an audit approach to review front, middle, and back-office controls, including valuation, settlement, and risk limit framework development and monitoring. Qualifications: •Stay current on regulatory developments and industry best practices impacting treasury and capital markets. •Ensure audit methodologies align with IIA Standards and applicable regulatory guidance. •The Experience You Bring To The Team •Minimum Required Experiences and Skills •8 years of experience in internal audit or risk management within financial services, with significant exposure to complex treasury and capital markets activities (i.e. investment banking). •Comprehensive expertise in trading products, market risk, credit risk, and operational risk in capital markets and treasury activities. •Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. •Demonstrated capacity to influence senior leaders and drive change across complex organizations. •People leadership experience, including direct management or supervision of a team. •Shows curiosity and adaptability in learning and responsibly applying new technologies, including artificial intelligence, to reimagine how we work.
