Hiring: Assurance Manager Company: BDO USA Location: Houston, TX Job Posted Time: 2026-09-16 11:53:19 Employment Type: On-site Target Skills & Keywords : Microsoft Office About the job Experience: •Five (5) or more years of prior relevant audit experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting or consulting/professional services experience, required •Prior significant supervisory experience, required •Industry expertise in one or more assurance specialty, preferred •Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, preferred Required Skills: •Applies knowledge and understanding of the collective effect of various factors on establishing or enhancing effectiveness, or mitigating the risks, of specific policies and procedures •Applies a broad understanding of objectives and components of the overall control environment and organization, and supervisory controls •Validates and assesses effectiveness of internal control over financial reporting •Identifies and communicates to management and audit committee suggestions to improve client internal controls and accounting procedures •Identify and delegates functions of the audit to the auditor in charge as deemed appropriate •Supervise the work of audit team and review workpapers and conclusions preferably onsite during audit field work •Provide on-the-job-training to the engagement staff during audit field work •Applies knowledge and understanding of governing principles; applying these principles to client transactions; and documenting and communicating an understanding and application of these principles Qualifications: •Bachelor’s degree, required; major in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics, preferred •Master’s degree in Accountancy, preferred •Sound GAAP and GAAS knowledge •Operational familiarity with SEC and PCAOB reporting rules •Possess proven solid verbal and written communication skills •Possess excellent people development and delegation skills, including training/instruction and engagement scheduling and budgeting •Possess executive presence - need to be able to be primary contact for the client, prepare and present presentations to clients and potential clients •Active licensed US CPA, recognized active International Equivalent or unique qualification as defined by BDO’s Assurance Licensing Policy, required •If active international equivalent or unique qualifications, required to obtain an active US CPA license within approved timeframe as defined by firm licensing requirement guidelines Compensation: •$120,000 - $140,000 / year Interested candidates, please apply directly through the job posting on company's career page or try via AI auto apply on this platform.
