Required Skills: •Associate Counsel, Litigation - Tolls Group - General Law I •Deputy General Counsel - General Law •9:00 am - 5:30 pm (7.5 hours/day, or as required) •Assist in the preparation of toll legislation/regulations and contracts. •Provide legal advice, direction and representation regarding toll collection and violation enforcement under open road Cashless Tolling (ORT) and Central Business District Tolling Program (CBDTP), including, but not limited to, legislative initiatives, registration suspension, criminal prosecutions, exclusion orders, etc. •Provide legal advice, direction and representation regarding toll-related matters involving other tolling and public agencies including, but not limited to, the E-Z Pass Interagency Group, the New York/New Jersey tolling agencies, national toll interoperability, joint legislation, subpoenas, and investigations by other public agencies. •Handle affirmative property damage claims related to incidents on bridges and in tunnels. •The incumbent is required to perform other assignments as requested. Qualifications: •Public sector legal experience, particularly in New York City or New York State preferred. •A background in toll-related matters is preferred. •May need to work outside of normal work hours (i.e., evenings and weekends) •Travel may be required to other MTA locations or other external sites. •According to the New York State Public Officers Law & the MTA Code of Ethics, all employees who hold a policymaking position must file an Annual Statement of Financial Disclosure (FDS) with the NYS Commission on Ethics and Lobbying in Government (the “Commission”). •MTA and its subsidiary and affiliated agencies are •JD from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law in New York. •A license to practice law maintained in good standing throughout employment is required.
