Hiring: Associate, Commercial Analytics Company: Piper Maddox Location: Houston, TX Job Posted Time: 2026-09-10 10:27:46 Target Skills & Keywords : Aurora About the job Experience: •5+ years of relevant experience in energy analytics, resource adequacy, wholesale power markets, transmission planning, or a similar quantitative role at a utility, RTO/ISO, consultancy, developer, or power trading organization Required Skills: •Build, maintain, and operate probabilistic resource adequacy models to quantify the reliability and capacity value for transmission projects, including loss-of-load, ELCC, and resource accreditation analyses across RTO and utility frameworks. •Perform and interpret production cost, congestion, and capacity expansion modeling, both internally and through the review of consultant-led studies, to support project valuation, commercialization, and strategic decision-making. •Develop commercial and revenue analytics to assess capacity value, energy arbitrage, and congestion relief opportunities across organized electricity markets, including MISO, SPP, WECC, and ERCOT. •Assemble, validate, and document model inputs (ex. load, generation, transmission topology, and weather data) while implementing quality control processes to ensure analyses are accurate, reproducible, and defensible. •Applied hands-on capability in probabilistic resource adequacy modeling; strong preference for SERVM or ELCC modeling •3–5+ years of relevant experience in energy analytics, resource adequacy, wholesale power markets, transmission planning, or a similar quantitative role at a utility, RTO/ISO, consultancy, developer, or power trading organization Compensation: •$120,000 - $140,000 / year Interested candidates, please apply directly through the job posting on company's career page or try via AI auto apply on this platform.
