Required Skills: •Review concept packages and support development of construction documents with Project Teams and Facility Management. •Coordinate and support the EHS contractor prequalification process and evaluate contractor performance against established EHS protocols. •Participate in pre-construction meetings and communicate UO EHS Contractor Safety expectations to contractors and Project Teams. •Conduct contractor safety orientations in alignment with established programs. Evaluate EHS logistics with general contractors, vendors, and Project Teams regarding site access, insurance, contractor safety requirements, and project-specific EHS expectations. •Support Project Managers and Facility Management in reviewing design phase submittals impacting EHS programs and operational safety. •Review project design documents for corporate standards and regulatory compliance. Coordinate input from EHS subject matter experts and communicate recommendations to project stakeholders. •Evaluate existing facility conditions and operational impacts to identify potential EHS concerns requiring consideration during design. •Participate in design review and progress meetings to support safe and compliant project outcomes. Qualifications: •Job requires active coordination with multiple departments/clients across property. •Work is complex with both known and changing contexts and within broad but established standards. •Liaise with other EHS functional area experts related to environment, industrial hygiene, construction, fire, standards and assurance, training and safety operations •Direct oversight of EHS management system elements, corrective action programs, performance measurement, compliance verification, and cross-functional coordination. •Must be an initiative-taker with basic working knowledge of applicable health and safety regulations, possess basic business acumen and effective communication skills, ability to identify, analyze, and appropriately communicate and act on information in a range of workplace conditions and unpredictable situations. •Demonstrated capacity to influence and work on a team by applying communication, collaboration, engagement and listening skills to promote and support change. •Possess and utilize mentoring skills to develop capability of management team members related to EHS matters. •Basic ability to develop plans, identify trends, and create short term strategies to mitigate risk. •Strong computer skills, ability to prepare and deliver presentations, ability to work varied hours and days with most of the time being in the field. •Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
