Hiring: Assistant Director of Home Modification Programming Company: ADAPT Community Network Location: New York, NY Job Posted Time: 2026-09-17 02:59:51 Target Skills & Keywords : Accessibility, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, Project Management About the job Required Skills: •Direct the day-to-day operations of ADAPT’s home modification and accessible housing programs and ensure services are delivered in accordance with program, funding, regulatory, accessibility, and safety requirements. •Manage home modification projects from referral and eligibility through assessment, approval, procurement, construction, inspection, and closeout, ensuring projects remain within approved scopes, budgets, and timelines. •Review proposed home modifications for participant need, accessibility, safety, feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with applicable program requirements. •Coordinate with Home Accessibility Consultants, therapists, architects, engineers, contractors, vendors, and other professionals to develop and implement appropriate modification plans. •Develop and review scopes of work, specifications, estimates, budgets, project schedules, and change orders, and ensure required approvals are obtained. •Solicit and evaluate contractor bids and estimates and review contractor qualifications, licenses, insurance, and other required documentation. •Monitor contractor and vendor performance, construction progress, workmanship, quality, safety, and compliance; address delays, deficiencies, change orders, and other project issues as needed. •Coordinate site visits, pre-construction meetings, inspections, punch lists, final acceptance, warranties, invoices, and project closeout. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. •A Bachelor's degree is required. •Minimum one year of supervisory or managerial experience in a related field. •Minimum two years of human services experience, preferably serving individuals with developmental disabilities or other populations requiring accessibility services. •Strong organizational, analytical, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. •Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple projects, budgets, deadlines, and priorities. •Demonstrated capacity to review estimates, budgets, invoices, percentages, and other financial information. •Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and electronic case/project management systems. •Demonstrated capacity to maintain confidentiality and professional relationships with participants, families, staff, contractors, and external partners. •Excellent written and verbal communication skills; bilingual Spanish preferred.
