Required Skills: •Directly supervises up to four permanent lead employees and indirectly supervises up to 27 permanent employees. •Coordinates work assignments and evaluation of all direct reports including projects during the academic year break periods (winter and summer breaks). •Lead and oversee monitoring staff daily attendance using established administrative processes and submitting monthly staff attendance reports. •Provides supervision for contracted custodial staff when utilized. •Prepares correspondence, reports, and completes administrative assignments on behalf of the Director for Facilities Operations as needed. •Trains, monitors and evaluates custodial workers in proper use of equipment, materials and accepted techniques. Develop, employ, and refine APPA standards for custodial operations. •Ensures that the Lead Custodians are trained in methods for providing consistent inspections of daily work. •Provides written documentation for all training procedures. Qualifications: •Demonstrated capacity to lead individuals and projects in a team effort to accomplish institutional and divisional goals and objectives. •Demonstrated capacity to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. •Demonstrated capacity to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, students, parents, and the public. •Demonstrated capacity to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, rations, and proportions. •Demonstrated capacity to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions and to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with multiple abstract and concrete variables. •Knowledge of a housing program for a metropolitan university. •Knowledge of budget experience and administrative techniques related to the development and implementation of appropriate fiscal controls, personnel and appropriate methods of work planning, scheduling and coordination. •Demonstrated capacity to effectively establish and maintain cooperative working relationships within a diverse, multicultural environment. •Demonstrated capacity to carry out a variety of professionally complex assignments without detailed instructions. •Must possess excellent customer service and public relations skills.
