Hiring: Analyst Accounting Policy and Controls Company: FirstEnergy Location: Akron, OH Job Posted Time: 2026-09-03 11:25:59 Employment Type: Contract Target Skills & Keywords : Capital Markets, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, Microsoft PowerPoint, SAP About the job Experience: •4-7 years of related work experience is required •7 years of related work experience is required Required Skills: •We are a forward-thinking electric utility powered by a diverse team of employees committed to making customers’ lives brighter, the environment better and our communities stronger. •This is an open position within FirstEnergy Service Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. •The reporting location for this onsite position may be based at any FirstEnergy Service location, including but not limited to Akron, OH; Williamsport, MD; Reading, PA; Greensburg, PA; and Erie, PA. •The position reports to the Director, Accounting Policy and Controls. •Maintaining a safe workplace for coworkers and the community based upon knowledge of potential hazards and industry regulations/requirements •Alignment with FirstEnergy’s Core Values and Behaviors as well as priorities of the Controller and Finance organization •Assisting and coordinating monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close entries and processes for Energy Delivery by developing or approving financial journal entries and accruals •Preparation of capitalization and reclassification journal entries such as Rubber Goods, Lineman Essentials, Small Tools, Claims and Make Ready write off entries Qualifications: •Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline is required. Advanced degree a plus. •Minimum 4-7 years of related work experience is required •Relevant work experience includes but is not limited to a working knowledge of financial acumen, understanding of SAP and FERC uniform system of accounts, reporting and forecasting processes, rate and regulatory filings, accounting, taxes, capital markets, credit rating agency protocols, and financial statement analysis •Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Word) •Demonstrate a questioning attitude to learn, produce results and develop relationships •Desire to learn, grow, and work across FirstEnergy and deliver results •Develop effective working relationships with employees at all levels •Demonstrated capacity to deliver quality, accurate work within established deadlines •Excellent written and oral communication and time management skills Interested candidates, please apply directly through the job posting on company's career page or try via AI auto apply on this platform.
