Hiring: Air Compliance Engineer Company: Devon Energy Location: Houston, TX Job Posted Time: 2026-09-10 11:11:54 About the job Experience: •7+ years of relevant experience, preferably in air quality/environmental compliance, with a focus on methane reporting, OGMP 2.0, GHG inventories, or similar programs. •Direct experience with OGMP 2.0 reporting frameworks strongly preferred. •Demonstrated experience representing an organization externally — with industry associations, peer companies, or regulatory agencies — preferred. •Operational familiarity with air compliance reporting tools/applications is a plus, though deep technical/development expertise is not required. •Upstream oil & gas industry experience preferred. Required Skills: •OGMP 2.0 Leadership & Reporting •Leads end-to-end implementation of OGMP 2.0 reporting requirements, including Level 4/5 source-level quantification, reconciliation, and annual reporting submissions. •Analyzes evolving methane and air emissions regulations, interprets requirements, and leads the development of cost-effective compliance programs that satisfy regulatory frameworks (EPA, state agencies, and international standards as applicable) and complement OGMP initiatives. •Coordinates cross-functional data collection efforts (measurement, engineering estimates, and reconciliation) to support annual OGMP reporting cycles and continuous improvement of emissions accuracy. •Tracks OGMP 2.0 program milestones and maintains documentation of methodology to support internal and external reporting. •Owns the reconciliation methodology and the technical relationship with UNEP and third-party reconciliation platform vendors, driving toward sustained Level 5 recognition through iterative, measurement-informed reconciliation. •Sponsors and coordinates targeted measurement campaigns (e.g., basin-specific engine testing) to close gaps identified through regulator feedback, treating them as compliance-risk mitigation rather than discretionary studies. •Leads reporting-alignment decisions following mergers, acquisitions, or other portfolio changes (e.g., asset classification, Operated-by-Others treatment), ensuring decisions are documented ahead of each cycle's asset list confirmation. Qualifications: •Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Data Science/Computer Science, or a related discipline; equivalent, relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
