The scope of the work will include design, analysis, lifing and testing support of gas turbine components for new designs, redesigns and to resolve field related issues. •Work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on a Hybrid work schedule. •Perform professional mechanical engineering assignments such as heat transfer and secondary cooling flow analyses without appreciable supervision. •Conceive, design and execute complex cooling schemes to increase component durability with minimum impact to engine performance. •Thermal design and analysis of cooled airfoil components such as nozzles and blades is a plus. •Create and calibrate 2D and 3D transient conduction-convection thermal models using NX thermal or equivalent software. •Create 3D conjugate heat transfer models using StarCCM+ or equivalent software. Qualifications: •Plans and supports engine thermal survey testing and data postprocessing for thermal model calibration, engine certification, Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) efforts. •Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics.
