Hiring: Actuarial Analyst II, Medical Trend Company: Humana Location: United States Job Posted Time: 2026-09-17 10:43:15 Employment Type: Full-time / Remote Target Skills & Keywords : HIPAA, Medicaid, Medicare, Microsoft Excel, Python, R, SQL, Vue, Workday About the job Required Skills: •Analyze healthcare claims, membership, authorization, financial, and other relevant data to evaluate medical cost, utilization, unit cost, and emerging experience. •Investigate emerging cost and utilization patterns, identify key drivers, and summarize findings for actuarial and business partners. •Prepare clear summaries, visualizations, and presentation materials that explain analytical findings, assumptions, limitations, and business implications. •Partner cross-functionally with actuarial, finance, clinical, market, operations, and technology partners to understand business questions and support analytical needs. •Investigate data anomalies, perform root-cause analysis, and work with business and technology partners to resolve identified issues. •Actively facilitate and support development, maintenance, validation, and enhancement of actuarial models, datasets, reports, and analytical tools. •Develop and maintain processes and controls that support reliable data, models, reporting, and recurring analytical deliverables. •Maintain documentation of data sources, business rules, methodologies, assumptions, controls, and recurring processes. Qualifications: •Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, data science, or another related quantitative field •Successful completion of at least 3 actuarial exams •Meets requirements for Humana's Actuarial Professional Development Program (APDP) •Strong verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated with professionalism and timely follow-through •Prior actuarial, healthcare, insurance, financial, or related analytical experience •Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences •Use your skills to make an impact •Knowledge of healthcare insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, or managed care •Demonstrated interest in medical-cost analytics, forecasting, data quality, or emerging experience •: Typical business hours are Monday-Friday, 8 hours/day, 5 days/week-- some flexibility might be possible, depending on business needs.
